- A study that was conducted by the Harvard School of Public health during 2002 reported that college aged women who drink alcohol are 50% more likely to have unplanned sex or to be the victim of a sexual assault.
- Young people consumed 3% more alcohol per month for each additional dollar spent per capita on alcohol advertising in their market.
- 17% of 18-25 year old women and 13% of 26-34 year old women of child-bearing age report binge drinking (five or more drinks on one occasion) within the past month.
- Drinkers who consume alcohol mixed with energy drinks are 3 times more likely to binge drink (based on breath alcohol levels) than drinkers who do not report mixing alcohol with energy drinks.
