- When alcohol and tobacco are used in combination, the effect of each is heightened.
- According to the most recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH), alcohol is the drug that is used most often by high school seniors; although they cannot legally purchase alcohol, over 90% of them have tried it and almost on third of them have reported that they have had more than five drinks at one time within the past month.
- Birth control pills slow down the rate at which alcohol is eliminated from the body.
- After a person has consumed eight to ten drinks, they will most likely be disoriented, confused, dizzy and have exaggerated emotional states; additionally, their vision may be disturbed, as is perception of form, motion, color and dimensions.
